(WordPress as a Gateway Drug: Enabling Innovation)

1. I DON’T NEED MY OWN SPACE

  • caravanista.net (acts as an aggregator of my work (incl. Loaded Learning, Mud Pit, & SfSS) and a place for my growing digital identity)
  • serenae.com (originally created as a place to bring together my academic work and artwork; has already resulted in job interviews, requests for web design, photography gigs, etc)

2. I DON’T NEED TO INTERACT WITH FRIENDS

3. I DON’T NEED A COMMUNITY

  • UMW Secrets (a semi-successful attempt at recreating a PostSecret.com-like site for a more specific community. It has forced me to think about ways to reach out to a community to gather content for the site since its content is nothing I produce but frame.)
  • Weekly Delicious (not WP, but resulted from use of WordPress in school… now used to share recipes and keep in touch)

4. I DON’T NEED IT FOR MY JOB

5. I DON’T NEED IT FOR THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, EITHER
